Product properties
(1) White light crystalline powder, decomposed under intense heat.
(2) Insoluble in water, cold ethyl alcohol and diethyl ether, soluble in hot benzene, methylbenzene and turpentine, slightly soluble in hot ethyl alcohol and diethyl ether. (3) It'll decompose into stearic acid and its corresponding calcium salt when meeting strong acid.

Application scope
Calcium stearate is the reaction product between stearic acid and metallic oxides. It can be widely used as additives in industries like plastics, textile and rubber.
(1) It can be used as stabilizer and lubricating agent for polyvinyl chloride, as well as halogen absorbent for polyethylene and polypropylene.
(2) It can be used as lubricating agent for polyolefin fibre and molding products, as well as lubricating agent and release agent for thermosetting plastics such as phenolic aldehyde and amidogen plastics.
(3) It can be used as thickener for lubricating grease, as well as water-proofing agent for waterproof fabrics.
(4) It can be used as flatting agent for paints as well as lubricating agent for pencil leads.
(5) Food grade calcium stearate can be used as anti-caking agent.
