Product properties
(1) Magnesium stearate is a white loose powder that's odorless and tasteless. It is fine and smooth and doesn't feel like sand grains. It has a slight characteristic aroma.
(2) It's insoluble in water, cold ethyl alcohol and diethyl ether, and will decompose into stearic acid and its corresponding magnesium salt when meeting strong acid.

Application scope
As a fatty acid salt type anion surfactant, magnesium stearate is widely used in the daily chemical industry and the pharmaceuticals industry.
(1) Since it has great stickiness on skins and excellent lubricity, it is used in powder type cosmetic products to increase their stickiness and lubricity.
(2) It can be used as heat stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride; its stablizing effect is similar to that of calcium stearate, and can be used in food packaging materials together with zinc soaps or calcium soaps.
(3) It can be used as plastic products' release agent, face powder, raw material for skin oil/cream, powder mold agent for medical tablets, and translucent flatting agent for paintings.
